Do you or your team have a performance in the pipeline, or do you have one already? Come and perform at the Oulu Music Festival!
The festival and Flow Productions are looking for a small- to medium-sized piece combining contemporary circus and live music, lasting at least 45 minutes, for the 2026 festival. Movement and music must play an equal role in the performance; otherwise, the genre is free.
The Oulu Music Festival is an annual city festival held in March, filling the city with international and national artists. The programme includes a wide range of classical and rhythm concerts and co-productions, including contemporary circus and dance.
Flow Productions is an independent group based in Oulu that creates its own multidisciplinary works and organises a year-round series of Flow Circus performances in collaboration with Oulu’s cultural institutions and festivals. The Oulu Music Festival and Flow Productions have been working together since 2012.
The performance will be presented in March 2026 during the European Capital of Culture year on the Valve Stage of the Culture Centre Valve. Valve Stage is a well-equipped stage with a capacity of 175 spectators, a stage depth about 7 meters, and a width 14 meters. The stage space is 7 meters high (to the bottom of the upper bridge). A lighting and sound technician and a stage manager will be present in the hall at all times.
The performance group charges the organiser a performance fee. Performers are also paid for travel and accommodation.
Oulu Music Festival artistic directors Mari Palo and Kari Ikonen, along with Flow Productions’ artistic director Pirjo Yli-Maunula, are responsible for selecting the work.
Please send enquiries and performance proposals, including cost estimates, to Flow’s producer at taina@flowprod.fi by 25 August 2025 at 16:00.
The selection will be made in early autumn 2025.
