“Wes Peden is a wonder…”
– THE NEW YORK TIMES
Rollercoaster is a one-hour solo show by Wes Peden that uses ultra-mordern, pop-unk juggling to talk about finding the balance between freedom and security.
Surrounded by a huge inflatable pink structure and accompanied by electro beats composed of distortrd rollercoaster sounds, Peden performs original tricks inspired by rollercoasters and their hugh-tech seatbelts. A spuinning plate ceremony becomes a celebration of the great rides of the past; an epic 3 ball disco juggling evokes the evolution of rollercoasters; a 4-meter transparent tube turns into a path around Wes´body to make balls flow through loops, helixes, and corkscrews. Rollercoaster twists theatrical rules to create a safe space to perform some of the most difficult and unique juggling ever done on stage!
Wes Peden designs juggling to perform in space stations and parking lots. He has performed in over 25 countries including Japan, Israel, Australia, and Iceland. His energetic, complex and playful juggling style has won him awards from the International Juggling Association and the festival Cirque de Demain. Wes takes inspiration from Sumo wrestling, fast-food packaging, and 1950´s playgrounds.
