WHAT DO SPACE EXPLORATION AND JUGGLING HAVE IN COMMON?
Flow Circus Spring showcases international stars of contemporary circus!
Flow Productions’ Flow Circus performance series will kick off in February with Reflex, a work by perhaps the world’s most famous juggler Jay Gilligan that parallels space exploration and the history of juggling. The spring season will also feature a Mexican clown, Czech aerial acrobats, Finnish wordless comedians and a 12-person French troupe of musicians, circus artists and architects, PPCM (Le Plus Petit Cirque du Monde).
Jay Gilligan’s one-man show REFLEX premiered in New York, Off-Broadway in 2022, builds a link between humanity’s quest for space exploration and the development of juggling as an art form. It features unique inventions, props and machines created by Gilligan. Using a variety of object manipulation techniques, Jay creates stunning soundscapes and vivid images that evoke a sense of cosmic connection in all of us. In Culture Centre Valve 1-5.2.2025. Tickets are on sale!
The second visit in February is the work THIN SKIN by Czech aerial acrobat Eliška Brtnickán and her team. Thin Skin is an installation-like work in which fragile and vulnerable bodies meet inflexible iron bars. Brtnická has long been engaged in artistic research into what trapezes are, what forms they can take, how they are reflected in the movements of the body and what this movement conveys to the viewer. In a hypnotic performance, the movement of three aerial acrobats shapes thin iron wires, forcing the performers to adapt to constantly changing circumstances. In Culture Centre Valve 18-21.2.2025. Tickets are on sale!
In April, the internationally renowned Mexican-born clown Gabriela Muñoz’s JULIETA will be performed at Valvesal. Witty and full of zest for life, Julieta shares her day with us and invites us into her home, which has become her whole world. The show is a tribute to a life lived to the full. says: “Klovneria is my way of building bridges of compassion and reminding us that humanity must learn to feel again.” In Culture Centre Valve 2.-3.4.2025.
