Engel (Angel) is a performance about inner struggle, decision making and the metaphysical. Witness an acrobat and a dancer merge into a physical dialogue where they raise questions about awareness through constant movement of weight, direction and motion.
Engel is inspired by the poetry of “Stof dat als een meisje” in which poet/writer Toon Tellegen describes a man who is haunted by an angel. The two performers ask themselves: Where are the angels of our time? Who is guiding us through the chaos of nowadays existence?
Kim-Jomi Fischer and Marta Alstadsæter met in 2015. Their different backgrounds, one is a contemporary dancer and one a circus-artist, sparked into a blooming collaboration. Since their first encounter they have been creating their own movement vocabulary, diving into the possibilities and qualities they find within they interplay. They create work that go beyond the frames of their original disciplines but that starts from the physical communication between them.
