It is the conceptual starting point for a transdisciplinary performance project which experiments with the potentials of real time video imagery on scenic spaces.
Transforming/expanding the meanings of actions and movements on stage by the simple manipulation of images in an imaginary space, Perto explores technologically mediated relationships and how different modes of communication can intertwine, interact or speak to each other.
Through different experiments, the live video technology offers novel choreographic and dramaturgical possibilities for physical and corporeal forms of expression, combining contemporary circus, video art, dance and physical theatre, blurring boundaries between ‘virtual’ and ‘real, creating a complex network of interactions between these different universes and the performers themselves.
Inspired by the concept of multiplexity and social interactions, 5 performers share the stage creating a collection of several tableaux, or short stories, which explore different aspects of our lives and roles in a technologically mediated society.
